Mert, “Türkiye’nin eğitime erişimde ilerlemeyi sürdürebilmesi, eğitimin niteliğinde iyileşme sağlayabilmesi, eşitsizliklerin giderilmesine katkıda bulunabilmesi için ortaöğretimde yapılacak düzenlemeler büyük önem taşıyor. Sınıf tekrarının en yüksek olduğu kademe 9. sınıf olurken devamsızlık oranları da arttı” dedi.

ERG Eğitim Gözlemevi Koordinatörü Burcu Meltem Arık ise erişimde önemli adımların atıldığını ama toplumsal cinsiyet eşitliği konusunun eğitimin genelinde gerilediğini belirtti. Toplumsal cinsiyet eşitsizliğinin risklerinden birinin okul terki olduğunu dile getirerek “Okul terkinde kız çocukları için ailesinin istememesi, evlenme, oğlanlarda çalışmak zorunda olma terkin sebepleri. Okul, hiçbir şekilde ayrımcılığın yeniden üretildiği bir yer olamaz” dedi.
