Sanıyorum 50 binin üzerinde yeni öğretmen ataması yapılması planlanıyordu. Başvurular başlatıldı, ama yeterli başvuru olmadığı ortaya çıktı.
O zaman eğitim fakültelerinin sayısı fazla değildi, dolayısıyla da mezun olan öğretmen adayı sayısı da azdı. Atanması planlananın çok altında bir başvuru olmuştu. Niyet iyi idi, okullar yeni bir eğitim öğretim yılına başlamadan, atanacak öğretmenlerin okullarında hazır olması hedeflenmişti. Çare olarak sözleşmeli öğretmenlik uygulamasına geçildi, fen-edebiyat mezunlarına da öğretmenlik hakkı verilerek, sözleşmeli statüden öğretmen olarak atamaları yapıldı, hedef yanlış da olsa tututurulmuştu.
İşte, o gün bu gündür sözleşmeli öğretmenlik adeta vazgeçilemez bir uygulama haline getirildi, hatta çok sayıda öğretmen adayı olmasına rağmen, sözlemeli öğretmenlerle de yetinlmeyerek, ücretli öğretmenlik de devreye girdi zamanla. Ve öylece devam ediyor bu uygulama.
Fazla söze ve yazıya gerek yok, çok yakınlarda yine sözleşmeli olarak 20 bin yeni öğretmen ataması yapıldı. Yanlış zamanlama ile başlatılan bu yanlış uygulamadan ne zaman vazgeçileceği de belli değil. İnşallah bu yanlış uygulamaya bir an önce son verilir.
