Milli Eğitim Bakanlığı, okulların 2020-2021 eğitim öğretim yılı takvimini valiliklere gönderdiği genelge ile açıkladı. Okullar 31 Ağustos’ta açılacak ve 2021’de 18 Haziran’da yaz tatili başlayacak. Okulöncesi eğitim ile ilkokul birinci sınıfa başlayacak öğrenciler için 31 Ağustos-4 Eylül 2020 arasında uyum eğitimleri gerçekleştirilecek.
Açıklanan 2020-2021 eğitim yılı takvimine göre, okullarda birinci dönem ara tatili 16-20 Kasım 2020′de yapılacak, 22 Ocak 2021 Cuma günü sona erecek. Yarıyıl tatili ise 25 Ocak 2021 Pazartesi günü başlayacak 5 Şubat 2021 Cuma günü sona erecek. İkinci dönem, 8 Şubat 2021 Pazartesi günü başlayacak. İkinci dönem ara tatili ise 12-16 Nisan 2021′de yapılacak. Eğitim öğretim yılı 18 Haziran 2021 Cuma günü sona erecek.
Ayrıca takvimde öğrencilerin bir önceki eğitim ve öğretim yılına dair eksik konu ve kazanımları ile öğrenme kayıplarına ilişkin eğitim programının, 2020-2021 ders yılıyla ilişkilendirildiği ve bu eğitim öğretim yılının bir parçası olarak planlandığı belirtildi. 2021-2022 Eğitim Öğretim Yılı ise 6 Eylül 2021 Pazartesi günü başlayacak.
