Derneğin başkan yardımcısı Şerife Özdemir’in verdiği bilgilere göre, 1949 yılında kurulan ve 26 şubesi bulunan Türk Üniversiteli Kadınlar Derneği, bu şubelerin bulunduğu illerdeki devlet üniversitelerinde okuyan ihtiyaç sahibi kız öğrencilere karşılıksız burs veriyor.
Vakıf üniversitelerinde burslu öğrenim gören öğrencilerin de değerlendirmeye alındığını belirten Özdemir, “Amacımız kadınların meslek sahibi olması, ayaklarının üzerinde durabilmesi, gelecek nesillere katkı verebilmesini sağlamak. 2018-2019 öğretim döneminde 1045 öğrenciye burs verme imkânı bulabildik.
245 öğrencimiz mezun oldu. Öğrencilerimizin gerek eğitim sürecinde gerekse sonrasında dernekle ilişkilerinin devamını tercih ediyoruz. ‘Onlar da kendilerinden sonra gelen kızlarımıza ablalık, mentörlük yapmalı’ düşüncesiyle hareket ediyoruz.
Burslar için müracaat eylül ayına kadar internet üzerinden form doldurularak yapılıyor. Başvuranları daha sonra tanışmak için davet ediyoruz. Şartlar uygun olduğu takdirde ekim ayı itibarıyla burs vermeye başlıyoruz.”
Burs kriterlerini taşıyan kız öğrencilere 9 ay boyunca aylık 200 lira ödeniyor.
