Milli Eğitim Bakanı Mahmut Özer, mart ayı sonunda 45 bin yeni öğretmen atamalarının 8 Mayıs’ta yapılacağını duyurmuştu. Atanacak öğretmen sayısı daha sonra 48 bin 500’e çıkarıldı. Ancak atamalarda bilişim teknolojileri öğretmenlerine 217 kişilik kontenjan belirlendi. Bilişim teknolojileri öğretmen adayları, bu nedenle Ankara’da Ulus Atatürk Anıtı’nın önünde atama sayısının yetersizliğini protesto etti.
MEB’in, atama kontenjanları dağıtımında adaletsiz davrandığını kaydeden Eğitim Söz-Sen Genel Başkanı Nihat Aydın, “2012-2016 arasında 1500 bilişim teknolojileri öğretmeni atanırken bu yıllardan sonra çok düşük kontenjanlar verilmiştir. Bilişim yarının geleceği, bugünün ışığıdır” dedi.
