Milli Eğitim Bakanlığı, “İstanbul’da özel okullar, devlet okullarından fazla” haberleriyle ilgili olarak sayısal bilgiler verdi. MEB İstanbul Planlama Ajansı tarafından yayımlanan rapordaki, “İstanbul’da bulunan özel lise oranlarının devlet okullarını aştığı ve dolayısıyla fırsat eşitliğinin azaldığı”na dair haberlerle ilgili açıklama yaptı.
MEB, raporda “İstanbul’daki özel liselerin, okul sayısı toplamının yüzde 68,10’unu oluşturduğu ve buna rağmen bu özel okulların eğitime katkısının başarıyı artırmadığı” yönünde yanlış ve yanıltıcı içeriklere yer verildiğini belirterek şu bilgiler verildi:
“2024-2025 eğitim öğretim yılı itibarıyla İstanbul’da ilkokul düzeyinde 1.609 kurum bulunmakta olup bu kurumların 1.067’si resmi, 542’si ise özel okul olup özel ilkokulların toplam ilkokullar içindeki oranı ise yüzde 32.86’dır. Özel okullarda eğitim gören öğrencilerin toplam oranı ise yüzde 9.55’tir” ifadelerini kullandı.
Kentte lise düzeyindeki toplam 1.682 kurumun 665’inin özel, 1.017’sinin resmi okullardan oluştuğunu aktaran MEB, İstanbul’daki özel liselerin, toplam lise sayısı içindeki oranının yüzde 39.5 olduğunu, liseye giden öğrencilerin ise yüzde 15.49’unun özel liseye gittiğini kaydetti.
